The Funky Fleamarket 1st Annual Antique Rod & Custom Car Show

 *Labor Day Monday 2009*

Over 50 cars from the Metropolitan area came out to participate in our First Annual Antique Rod and Custom Car Show on Labor Day Monday. The clouds and the rain threatened to ruin our show day but somehow and someway we were able to keep the showers away until just before 3pm.

One of the coolest parts of the show was watching the cars enter and exit the parking lot. There was something so magical about watching these pieces of history glide on the street. Mouths were open and hearts were beating as the drivers instantly became the coolest people in the universe.

Attendees were able to talk with the owners of the cars and see the cars up close and personal. Drivers and attendees were able to take pictures in front of the cars and take a piece of history home with them thanks to photographers Dwight Stoddard, Mike Jones and myself {Malonda Richard-Sia}.

The show featured some of the most amazing vehicles in the DC Metropolitan Area including Volkswagen Bugs, Ford Cruisers, Lamborghini's, Fairlane's, Cadillac's and much more. It was truly eye candy for the mind and soul.

Thanks to all who were able to participate in the show and thanks to all of the attendees and staff. We hope to see you and yours next year.

The Funky Fleamarket Blog

Welcome to the blog for Friends in the Marketplace: The Funky Fleamarket. My name is Malonda and I will posting fun and interesting things about the market whenever I have the chance to. I LOVE the market and all of the wonderful things about it {the people, the goods, the food and the great deals!} and I can't wait to share my experiences with you.

I have been working with the market for over 2 years now in various positions and I must state that the market has added a lot of color to my life. That stated, it is important to note that this is not a daily or weekly blog.

If you are frequent visitor to the market who is interested in contributing to the blog please email me at info@friendsinthemarketplace.com with samples of your writing and your contact info.
