We Are You. You are Us. We Are The Community.

Friends in the Marketplace: The Funk y Fleamarket is an one of a kind experience where vendors and shoppers from the DC Metropolitan Area connect each and every Saturday and Sunday to share the "goods." In addition to locals, vendors come from as far as Rhode Island and from as close as New York and Philadelphia to sell their new and used goods and shoppers come from the entire DC Metropolitan area and tourists come from all corners of the globe.
The market first opened to the public on Saturday, May 28, 2005 and has been a positive reflection of a community that is has deep roots in Washington, DC. The fabric of the market is built on community support and would not be possible without the support of Gallaudet University and Y.O.U.T.H. Group and Associates, Inc.
We work each and every weekend to produce a marketplace where community members can connect, reflect and support each other in a safe and productive way.
Omowale Sia is the manager for the market and whether you are a customer or a vendor he is available to answer your any of your questions. If you witness any activity at the market that is suspicious please go to the DJ booth located at the front of the market and have DJ Paul inform Mr. Sia about the situation.
